Problems with ticket-dispensing machines
Most departmental machines that dispense tickets (and receipts) are probably already Year 2000 compliant. Ticket and receipt-dispensing machines are available with different date formats. Some models allow the customer to select the display and report date formats. For example Pitney Bowes products use the format MMDDYY. Some manufacturers have no internal clock or dating mechanism that would be effected by the change in year. The following web sites give Year 2000 compliance information for departmental ticket dispensing machines.
Note 1: Ticket dispensing machines have EQ code K2068 in the BETS database. This code can be used by departments, with the on-line BET770 report, to get a list of all departmental ticket-dispensing machines in the BETS database, where the unit cost was over $500. Note 2: central ticket dispensing machines - those used by Parking and Transportation - are currently being evaluated for Y2K compliance. Back to Administrative Equipment
