Problems with time clocks and date stamps
Most recently manufactured time clocks and date stamps are compliant. If a machine is noncompliant, the date recorded or stamped will be incorrect. This may be unacceptable if the time clock or date stamp is used on dated material for personnel, legal documents or attendance records. If only the month, day of the month, and/or time of day are important, then the department does not need to replace the equipment. The following web sites give Year 2000 compliance and other information for time clocks and ticket dispensing machines.
Note: Time clocks have EQ code E8606 in the BETS database; date stampers have EQ code E8611 A department can use these codes, with the on-line BET770 report, to get a list of all departmental time clocks and/or date stampers in the BETS database, where the unit cost was over $500.
