With about 80 days left until January 1, 2000, many individuals and campus departments are still identifying and fixing Y2K problems. To help, we will be sending a series of short e-mail messages over the next two months to UC Berkeley's "year2000-ucb" mailing list.
These "Y2K Computer Advisories" will be short messages contain focused information, written at the novice level, covering Y2K issues for PCs and Macintosh computers. They will be suitable for forwarding to individuals in your department (or elsewhere) for self-help, and should also be useful to those doing departmental Y2K fixes. While they won't cover all Y2K problems of PCs and Macintosh computers, they could help to sharply reduce both the number and severity of problems that could occur.
If you have feedback or questions regarding these "Y2K Computer Advisories", please send them to:
y2k-advisories-feedback@uclink.berkeley.edu
(this address will also appear in all advisories)
