Where possible, identify equipment, software or data likely to have Year 2000 compliance problems and the likely impact of those problems, provide information on how to test for Year 2000 compliance, tools available to facilitate testing and appropriate corrective measures. Equipment covered by the subcommittee's charter includes, but is not limited to, computers, networks, fax machines, photocopiers, cash registers, postal meters and VCRs under the management of individual departments. Equipment, software, and data managed by a central organization such as IST or the Office of Media Services are not included in the charter of this subcommittee. The subcommittee may recommend to the Steering Committee any measures considered appropriate in the areas of central purchase of test and/or repair tools; central funding to help departments fix or replace non-compliant hardware and software; and reporting by departments on the status of testing and corrective measures for equipment in their units.
